Lead Abatement Supervisor
This entails having a separate license but a definition
should be included. Abatement means performing a permanent solution to
a lead hazard. The
Lead Risk Assessor locates the lead in the home, while the Lead Abatement
Supervisor discards the lead safely and properly. As a licensed
Lead Abatement Supervisor, I am responsible for the removal, replacement,
encapsulation, enclosure or the stabilization of lead hazards in your
home as recommended by a Lead Risk Assessor. It must be noted that
stabilization is not an abatement procedure but is an interim control.
Also, the mere presence of lead in a house does not itself constitute
a hazard; the condition of the lead surface determines that. You'll notice
that I am both a licensed Lead Risk Assessor and a licensed Lead Abatement
Supervisor, and, in order to avoid any potential conflicts of interest,
we cannot perform both tasks at any one specific job location.
